Key Leadership
Rose Chambers - Finance Chair

Rose Chambers is a retired IRS supervisor with many years of financial experience.  Through her leadership she, her committee, and others have helped the church come through difficult financial struggles to where we are now, ahead on our missional giving, ahead on our average balance and looking to Take a Step of Faith to complete a dream of having a new fellowship hall and additional classrooms for our adults and our youth.  She and her husband Ed graciously host the annual All Church Round Up which begins with swimming, games, and great food at their spacious ranch and continues on Sunday with everyone bring friends and family worship and Sunday morning.  Rose is always willing to serve and goes out of her way to share her talents for the sake of Christ's Kingdom.  We are blessed to have Rose and Ed as leaders in this church.  (Picture taken during on of our regular Sing-a-Longs at the nursing home. Ron Jacobs - Board Chair

Ron is one of our cherished Sunday school teachers and one of our resident historians.  He writes many articles for the newsletter.  He and his wife Alice regularly host Sunday school events at their home and they also ask the congregation to join the class for outings like plays and dinner theaters.  Ron is also one of our United Methodist 101, and Getting to Know the Marietta First United Methodist Church, teachers.  Alice and Ron are charished members who's leadership and guidance have helped the church serve Christ by serving the congregation, the community and people from around the world.  We are blessed to have them as leaders in the church and community. Les Bussell - Pastor
E-mail Les

Peace be with you.

I am told people like the way I break scripture down for teaching and preaching.  I like sharing the good news of Jesus Christ who came to set us free; free to love, care, make mistakes, free to be loved, to let others carefor us, and free to forgive mistakes, ours and others.  We are set free from sin and death, we are free to serve in grace as we ourselves have been served.  We are set free to live free of sin and doubt in all situations is God's gift to us, we can't earn it, we can only accept it and once we do our lives are never the same, we become new creature, transformed by the Holy Spirit, we are made new in Christ.  YWe are no longer the same, that is God's grace.

Our Pastor at VBS

Because of Jesus we are given new eyes and new ears, we may live in the world, but we are not of the world.  I hope you know Jesus as your Lord and savior, if not come visit with us and I believe you'll see him, hear him, touch him, and be touched by him.  Come share the grace anytime and if you already know Jesus there are ministries and places for you to serve him, come share the grace.  Peace be with you, come share the grace.
